Reaction of the Institute for the Development of Pre-University Education of Canton Sarajevo to Bandić's text

(Patria) - Following the text published on the portal nap.ba, authored by Muamer Bandić, the Institute for the Development of Pre-University Education of Canton Sarajevo has reacted.

"We are obliged, for the sake of accurate information to the public, to respond with the following denial. The Institute for the Development of Pre-University Education of Canton Sarajevo operates exclusively within the legally prescribed competencies, in accordance with current laws and bylaws. The claims that the Institute carries out any kind of 'political purges', 'pressures', or acts as a 'political police' are unfounded, unsubstantiated, and represent a gross violation of the reputation of this institution and its employees.

The role of the Institute in the education system is clearly defined and implies providing support for the improvement of the educational process. The activities carried out by the Institute, including oversight of certain segments of institutional work, are implemented solely in accordance with prescribed procedures.
Any association of the Institute with alleged political decisions constitutes incorrect and misleading information to the public.

At the same time, we consider it extremely inappropriate and concerning that the author of the said text, as a representative in the Assembly of Canton Sarajevo, demonstrates through his public appearance a serious lack of responsibility towards public opinion. It is particularly problematic that such an approach is applied in the field of education, which directly concerns children, parents, and teachers, and requires the highest degree of professionalism and social responsibility.

By using inflammatory, unfounded, and discrediting rhetoric, the author knowingly undermines trust in institutions and introduces destabilization into the education system. We consider such a manner of public conduct unworthy of the position he holds and contrary to the interests of the public he is obliged to represent.

The use of inappropriate and severe qualifications, such as comparisons with totalitarian systems, we consider irresponsible and harmful to the public sphere.

The Institute remains committed to its core mission – improving the quality of upbringing and education, supporting teachers, and developing a modern, inclusive, and high-quality education system in Canton Sarajevo.

We call on the media to report professionally and responsibly, based on verified information and respect for all relevant actors," is the reaction of the Public Institution Institute for the Development of Pre-University Education of Canton Sarajevo.
