Disappointment in Elvedina Muzaferija's team: Force majeure prevented her from using good starting positions and securing the finale

(Patria) - Despite the organizers' efforts to ensure everything necessary for holding the Super-G races for women in Val di Fassa, Italy, this weekend, both races were cancelled due to force majeure.

The fastest female skiers in the world, whom we follow in the Audi FIS Ski World Cup, including Elvedina Muzaferija from Visoko, were met with large amounts of snow, and today, additionally dense fog.

Muzaferija was supposed to start the first race of the weekend in 25th position, which would have meant her best starting number in this discipline so far. Saturday's race was cancelled, and for the next day, the best Bosnian and Herzegovinian skier secured an even lower starting number. However, the cancellation of the competitions on February 24th and 25th brought new disappointment to most skiers, especially to the BiH team, as these were very important races leading up to the World Cup finale.

“We are disappointed because the cancellation of these races definitely makes our qualification for the Super-G discipline finale more difficult. We understand that skiing is such a sport and that we cannot change anything. It is also true that the organizers did their best to prepare the course, but it could not be brought to a level that would be safe and fair for all competitors,” stated the Bosnian and Herzegovinian team, with the message:

“Of course, there is still a chance that one Super-G will be moved to Kvitfjell, which most competitors would want. Even if that doesn't happen, Elvedina is ready to give her best in the remaining Super-G race in Norway, and with a bit of luck, qualify for the discipline finale in Saalbach.”
