Possibilities for Greater Engagement of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton in Municipal Projects Considered

(Patria) - Minister of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton Samir Avdić visited today the municipal mayor Ibrahim Hadžibajrić.

During the meeting, possibilities were considered on how the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton could become more engaged in projects aimed at these areas in Stari Grad.

Minister Avdić once again thanked Mayor Hadžibajrić for last year's support in holding the qualification tournament for the 2022 European Basketball Championship for men.

"This support was certainly justified given that the Basketball Team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, by defeating Latvia, qualified for the European Championship for the tenth time in its history, which will be held in 2022," reminded Minister Avdić.

As the municipal mayor, Mr. Hadžibajrić said, the Stari Grad Municipality invests significant funds to support culture and sports.

"That support is reflected not only through assistance to talented athletes during preparations and departures for important competitions, but also through ensuring the infrastructure necessary for the development of young people. In this regard, in the previous period, the Municipality built numerous sports halls at elementary schools, as well as sports playgrounds throughout Stari Grad. There are also numerous projects in the field of culture that are part of the regular financing and support program provided by the Municipality," said Mayor Hadžibajrić.
