(Patria) - The Federal Civil Protection Staff (FSCZ) held an urgent extraordinary electronic session and, based on the conclusion from an extraordinary session of the Staff, adopted 17 new orders.
The new orders relate to the procurement of necessary protective equipment and supplies (gloves, masks, disinfectants, protective goggles) and beds with mattresses for the University Clinical Center Sarajevo and 16 other government organizations, administrations, institutions, institutes, and other legal entities of exceptional importance for the functioning of the system for protecting and rescuing people and material assets in halting the spread of the pandemic caused by the coronavirus (Covid-19) in the Federation of BiH.
In accordance with the FBiH Government's Decision on declaring a disaster caused by the coronavirus (Covid-19) in the Federation of BiH and the need to allocate additional funds for the procurement of materials and equipment, the FSCZ adopted a new Decision at the session for the procurement of materials and equipment from the special fund for protection against natural and other disasters in 2020, totaling 7,000,000 KM, which has been sent to the FBiH Government for approval.
The need for a temporary amendment to the movement ban order for persons under 18 and over 65 years of age was also considered, specifically regarding allowing persons over 65 years of age residing in the Federation of BiH to collect pensions at banks and make necessary purchases, while observing all hygiene-epidemiological measures and prescribed social distancing. Therefore, the opinion of the FBiH Ministry of Health was requested.
In order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection in the Federation of BiH, an extraordinary session of the Staff, chaired by Commander Jelka Milićević, was also held in Sarajevo on Wednesday.
The Information on activities undertaken by cantonal, municipal, and city civil protection staffs in finding adequate premises for the accommodation and isolation of persons found not to be complying with isolation measures ordered by competent authorities, which the FSCZ requested from them in accordance with the Recommendation of March 24, was unanimously accepted.
Premises for the accommodation and isolation of persons found not to be complying with isolation measures ordered by competent authorities have been designated by 45 municipalities/cities in the Federation of BiH. These premises can accommodate approximately 1,743 people.
The FSCZ took note of the information on the number of persons who violated the mandatory information measures, from which it can be concluded that the order to accommodate persons found not to be complying with isolation measures ordered by competent authorities in designated facilities has already yielded results, as the number of persons violating isolation has significantly decreased – announced the Federal Civil Protection Administration.
