Windows broken at mosque in Bosanska Dubica

(Patria) - An unknown person or persons broke the windows of the Puhalska mosque in Bosanska Dubica, confirmed by the Majlis of the Islamic Community of Bosanska Dubica.

As the chief imam Safet Beganović stated to the MINA agency, this act of vandalism was noticed this morning, after which the police were immediately notified.

- The windows were broken from the side of the cemetery, not from the street. Two external windows. The police reacted quickly and conducted an investigation.

We expect, of course, that the perpetrators will be found quickly and adequately sanctioned, because such attacks are not needed by anyone, they cause unrest and create a bad atmosphere in the community. This is a religious building, a place of spirituality - said Beganović.

He adds that the Islamic Community appeals and calls for peace, and hopes that the competent authorities will take all necessary steps to ensure the security of religious buildings.

- It is better that the perpetrators are found and prosecuted quickly, rather than leaving room for doubt and insecurity. We expect the authorities to do their part and show that such and similar attacks will not and must not be tolerated - stated Beganović.
