Conflict at the top of SDA: Why did Salkić and Ramić release the audio recording of Ahmetović's conversation?

Deputy in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH and Vice President of SDA Sadik Ahmetović has found himself in the public spotlight in recent days due to an audio recording from the session of the Organisational Committee for marking July 11, 1995, which appeared on the internet.

The audio recording captures his voice and that of Srebrenica mother Hatidža Mehmedović, who lost two sons in the genocide. According to what can be heard, Ahmetović raised his voice at Hatidža while they were discussing the awarding of certificates of appreciation to those who helped mark the previous anniversaries of the genocide, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Ahmetović showed impropriety, but after the session ended, as we learned from participants, he and Mehmedović resolved their differences, reportedly after he apologised.

However, why was this recording suddenly released to the public? According to information we have obtained, it is a matter of a conflict within the SDA itself, with Ramiz Salkić and Edin Ramić on one side, and Sadik Ahmetović and Adil Osmanović, a deputy of "Domovina" in the NSRS and Vice President of SDA, on the other.

Salkić and Ramić, who are Bakir Izetbegović's people, the Deputy President of SDA, and do everything according to his directives, advocate for "Domovina" to enter into a coalition with Milorad Dodik in the Republika Srpska, while Ahmetović and Osmanović oppose this.

Of course, it has been presented to the public that Salkić and Ramić have "gotten out of control" due to the fact that SDA at the state level is entering a coalition with the Alliance for Changes RS, but this is a well-thought-out game to weaken Ahmetović's influence in eastern Bosnia, especially in Srebrenica, and Osmanović's influence at the top of SDA, who fiercely opposes Izetbegović's policies.

Thus, Ramić reportedly asked Izetbegović to temporarily halt the Turkish credit line for Srebrenica and eastern Bosnia, which would be presented to the public as a failure by Ahmetović and Osmanović, thereby providing solid arguments to eliminate them from the party leadership and reduce their political influence.

Incidentally, Ramić, who entered the NSRS as a candidate on the "Domovina" list via a compensatory mandate, wants to become the federal minister for refugees and displaced persons, and in the RS, together with Salkić, he is trying to bring SDA into Dodik's government and secure two or three chairs for suitable party loyalists.

What is tragic in this political story is that the conflict at the top of SDA is being fought over the backs of Srebrenica and the Bosniaks who have returned to live there.

ĆAMIL DURAKOVIĆ WAITS THREE MONTHS FOR A MEETING

The Mayor of Srebrenica, Ćamil Duraković, whom Izetbegović has refused to meet for more than three months, has sent a new letter to the Deputy President of SDA requesting a meeting to calm the entire situation and ensure that Srebrenica is not again used as a bargaining chip in the struggle of individuals for power.

However, as things stand, Izetbegović does not want to receive him, because he believes that Duraković is on the side of Ahmetović and Osmanović, i.e., opponents of SDA's coalition with SNSD in the Republika Srpska.
