SARAJevo, (Patria) - Director of the General Hospital „Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš" Zlatko Kravić confirmed that part of the medical staff from other health institutions has been reassigned to that hospital.
He told N1 that it is normal for staff to be reassigned in such crisis situations due to the declaration of a pandemic. Director Kravić added that the hospital is ready to receive some COVID-19 patients as well.
According to a document signed by the Minister of Health of KS Rusmir Mesihović, 23 employees have been temporarily reassigned from eight health institutions (excluding KCUS) so that the General Hospital can take over the admission and care of emergency conditions in the General Hospital seven days a week, 24 hours a day, for the duration of the state of natural disaster caused by the appearance of the coronavirus.
This will further relieve the University Clinical Center Sarajevo, reducing the pressure of patients on that hospital.
However, the General Hospital cannot provide tertiary level healthcare services, so some patients, at least the urgent ones, will still end up at KCUS.
