Tender announced for the construction of the southern stand of Grbavica stadium

(Patria) - The Municipality of Novo Sarajevo has announced a public procurement for the selection of a contractor for the project "Construction of the southern stand of Grbavica stadium", officially marking the beginning of the implementation of one of the most important infrastructure projects in the field of sports in Sarajevo Canton.

The project has been included in the Public Investment Program of Sarajevo Canton based on the initiative of FK Željezničar, and its implementation is supported by the Government of Sarajevo Canton, while the Ministry of Culture and Sports of KS has secured 4,700,000 KM with VAT for its construction.

In accordance with the Agreement on Regulation of Mutual Rights and Obligations, the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo is the implementer and coordinator of the project, while the Institute for Construction of KS will provide expert supervision.

The new southern stand with a capacity of 4,968 seats will bring significant improvements to the Grbavica stadium, which is continuously being modernized to meet the requirements for the third UEFA category and enable the playing of international matches.

The project includes a covered parking and fire escape route under the stand, a multifunctional space for fans, restrooms, and access for people with mobility impairments, as well as improved security and service access to the stadium.

It is expected that the implementation of this project will not only enhance Sarajevo's sports capacities but also strengthen its position on the sports and tourism map of the region.
