(Patria) - Kosovo's Prime Minister, Ramuš Haradinaj, resigned at today's government session. According to Kosovo media, Haradinaj received a summons from the Office of the Special Prosecutor in The Hague.
Haradinaj himself announced that he had received the summons for questioning in The Hague, claiming he would be questioned but was "not accused" there.
Haradinaj stated that the government would continue to function under a technical mandate and that there would be no vacuum. His resignation is irrevocable.
"Now it is the president's responsibility to start consultations for new elections. I will once again offer myself for the people's trust. I am not accused, but I will be questioned. Both I and my party will participate in the elections. But I could not remain in the position of head of government because I would harm Kosovo by doing so," he said at a conference, Koha reports.
