Radončić: Leading the Coordination Body should be entrusted to a top healthcare manager

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Coordination Body has done strategic work and fulfilled its role, and it is now becoming a large warehouse where humanitarian goods, medical supplies, medicines, equipment, and hopefully ventilators will arrive, said the Minister of Security of BiH, Fahrudin Radončić, announcing that he is stepping down from the leading position of the BiH Coordination Body for Protection and Rescue.

"That position should be handed over to managers who know what to do, while accountants, bookkeepers, and humanitarian operatives handle the operational side. The Coordination Body now has the experience and all the coordinates on how to distribute aid. As the Minister of Security and the president of a large party, I do not want to be involved in humanitarian work because experts in that field know it much better," Radončić stated.

He emphasized that he does not want direct involvement with donations.

As he said, the Ministry of Security must continue to operate at its full capacity.

"We have more than enough work. The Coordination Body for Protection and Rescue should be led by someone from the medical profession, an infectologist, an epidemiologist, or a top manager from the healthcare sector. Let the competent authorities decide who that will be. I will absolutely continue to focus on my job, coordination, work, providing assistance, and what the Ministry of Security requires. In this way, I want to redistribute forces because I am the only minister in the Council of Ministers who is simultaneously the president of a party," Radončić said.

The Minister of Security highlighted "the fight against death" as the most important thing at this moment.

He emphasized that there is no reason for political or any other divisions in the country during the pandemic.

"Let's enable our healthcare workers to fight this crisis. Let's tell our citizens that it is not an invincible disease, that not everyone dies from it. We must encourage our people to focus on producing medical equipment and everything else, and most importantly, to follow the orders of their crisis headquarters," Radončić stated.

He added that BiH is a country with a high mortality rate and that the state should protect the majority who follow orders and recommendations.
