SARAJEVO, (Patria) - It is unacceptable that a respected doctor, let alone other citizens, tries for 13 days to enter the corona ward of a large hospital or clinical centre, said today the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fahrudin Radončić about the death of Dr. Šefik Pašagić, whom he personally knew.
"After the second case in Sarajevo, the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office should do its job," said Radončić.
He said that he will refer to the framework law on protection and rescue and will ask the cantonal minister to establish procedures for both patients and doctors regarding who to contact, who receives them, and which phone number to call.
"Because now there is confusion about who citizens should even contact. Doctors do not want to receive patients, we have an unacceptable situation where a large number of people are going on sick leave. I ask citizens to write down everyone who refused to receive them; after this situation, we will write to the medical chamber to revoke their licenses. Seven or eight days ago, I requested the dismissal of the director of the Health Centre; the parliamentary majority is not more important to me than any citizen. I immediately ask the Government to dismiss the director of the Health Centre," said Radončić.
Also, in response to a journalist's question regarding the increased number of tests, Radončić said that he would not interfere with the profession, but that the number of tests procured requires moving towards more mass testing.
"It is up to the cantonal headquarters to agree on this in accordance with the profession and to test as many people as possible, and the epidemic will decrease," said Radončić.
Regarding the return of BiH citizens from other countries to Bosnia and Herzegovina, as was the case with the return from Sweden, Radončić said:
"I advocated that every citizen has the right to come to BiH to be treated here. Is it a humanitarian flight if you bring someone from Sweden to BiH, which has a far larger number of ventilators? It is very important that we legally regulate what constitutes a ban on air traffic and under what conditions a humanitarian flight can be organised, rather than unnecessarily going through what I have already gone through," said Radončić.
