Consultative Working Meeting at the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces of BiH: Situation at an Extremely Satisfactory Level

(Patria) - Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zukan Helez and Deputy Minister Aleksandar Goganović held a consultative working meeting with the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of BiH, Lieutenant General Gojko Knežević, and the Deputy Chiefs of the Joint Staff of the AF BiH, Major General
Tomo Kolenda and Major General Mirsad Ahmić, on Monday, 10 March 2025.



The working meeting was also attended by the Secretary of the Ministry of Defence of BiH, the Chief Inspector, and the Assistant Ministers. The topics of the meeting were the analysis of activities and the current situation within the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of BiH. During the meeting, the heads of all departments and the Secretary presented the current situation within their respective areas of responsibility and proposed the best solutions.

Additionally, the Chief of the Joint Staff of the AF BiH informed those present about the regular and planned activities within the AF BiH.

After the analysis, Minister Helez stated:

„Today we had a very important consultative meeting; we concluded that the situation in the Ministry of Defence and the AF BiH is at an extremely satisfactory level, the situation is regular, and work is proceeding in accordance with applicable laws. I am extremely proud that we have had no incidents so far. I must also express satisfaction with the unblocking of the Reform Programme for 2024, which was also adopted by the Council of Ministers of BiH.

Deputy Minister Goganović expressed satisfaction with today's meeting.

„I am satisfied with the regular situation in the defence system, and I am glad that the chain of command is respected. I want to emphasise that the political situation should not be mixed with the AF BiH. My message is clear: we will have zero tolerance in the event of any incident,“ said Goganović.

General Knežević emphasised that regular and planned activities are taking place in the AF BiH.

„Our goal is to maintain cohesion at the level of all units and commands. The situation is stable and regular; we are working according to plan. Preparations for the demining process, renewal of military personnel, preparations for exercises, and the implementation of planned training have been intensified,“ said General Knežević.

At the end of the meeting, it was concluded that this type of coordination will continue in the coming period.
