BHRT workers have miserable salaries, no hot meal, but it is not the fault of RTV FBiH but of incompetent Karamehmedović

(Patria) - BHRT General Director Belmin Karahmedović said that since December they have been providing services to RTV FBiH without a single marka paid and that this is the reason for suspending services to RTV FBiH, with the exception of broadcasting news and daily news. A meeting will be held today with the management of JP Elektroprivreda BiH to try to find a solution for the distribution of funds from the collection of the RTV fee that is in the account of this company.

He said this morning on BHT's Morning Program that BHRT has been providing services since 2005 that should have been handled by a corporation that was supposed to service all three public broadcasters but was never formed due to political views from the RS that no more institutions should be formed at the state level.

"We did this at prices that are below any level. We had no other choice. BHRT employees have been brought to the brink of collapse. We haven't received a single marka from RTV FBiH since December. It is true that they paid for services. We have court proceedings for some 14 million KM that they do not recognize. They still use spaces in BHRT today and have never paid a marka. This is not a story of pushing things to the limit. We cannot work without being paid," said Karamehmedović.

He emphasized that BHRT has financial problems and cannot pay suppliers.

RTV FBiH's debt to BHRT is 1.5 million KM.

Karamehmedović pointed out that in 5 months, FTV has fully settled all obligations to its workers, while BHRT has not.

"We owe two hot meals, and God only knows when salaries will come because we have no money for the next salary," he added, noting that salaries at BHRT are miserable and they could not even regulate payments for workers' health insurance.

RTRS left the public broadcaster system in 2017 and began collecting the fee in the RS area, which they kept for themselves.

"The debt to us has grown to 80 million KM. In some cases, we have even reached the Constitutional Court. Some services we provided to RTRS we discontinued long ago. But they have a closed system, a separate system.

We have been working for RTV FBiH all the time, and I prioritized providing them with service. We can no longer work without being paid for our services," said the General Director of BHRT.
