(Patria) - Employees of the Centre for Preschool Education and Upbringing of Banja Luka will go on a general strike from tomorrow, after their demands were not met.
As announced by the Trade Union Alliance of Republika Srpska, kindergartens will operate according to the Act on the Minimum Process of Work, which means that working hours will last from 6:30 AM to 12:00 PM, when parents are obliged to pick up their children.
– We call on parents and the public for understanding, support, and patience, because this fight is not only ours, but the fight of every honest worker who may find themselves in a similar situation – said the trade union organization of employees in the Centre.
We remind you that the workers of Banja Luka kindergartens have been warning about their poor financial situation for months, and during June they held peaceful protests on Krajina Square, as well as warning strikes in July and September.
Their demands are a 20 percent salary increase for all employees, and consent to the amendments and additions to the Rulebook on the enrollment of employees' children.
The Centre for Preschool Education and Upbringing of Banja Luka encompasses 33 kindergarten facilities in the city area.
