(Patria) - During a meeting between a delegation from the entity of Republika Srpska and Russian leader Vladimir Putin, RS President Siniša Karan stated that Serbs and Russians are true friends, while the President of Russia emphasized his conviction in the continued development of partnership with RS.

In his address, Putin also focused on the friendship between Russians and Serbs, adding that he advocates for a "more just" international order that should be free from "external interventions." He said he is convinced that the partnership between Russia and RS will continue to develop. The Russian delegation also included Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Karan emphasized that Russia is the main strategic partner of RS in the international arena, reported Russia Today.

Interestingly, Russian media highlighted Karan, who, unlike Milorad Dodik, holds an official position.

Besides Dodik and Karan, the meeting was also attended by the Speaker of the National Assembly of RS, Nenad Stevandić. The absence of the BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović suggests that the RS authorities are trying to maintain contacts with both Washington and Moscow simultaneously, with clearly divided tasks.

It appears that such an approach has not met resistance in either Washington or Moscow, writes Istraga.ba
