Putin to visit Erdogan, but date not yet set

(Patria) - Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Turkey could take place in August, but the exact date has not yet been determined, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, Tass news agency reported.

"The exact date has not yet been determined. Currently, foreign ministers and intelligence services are working on the matter. I hope that as a result of their work, the visit will take place in August," Erdogan said when asked by journalists when Putin would visit Turkey.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said yesterday that the location and exact date of the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be coordinated through diplomatic channels.

A day earlier, Peskov stressed that "the meeting place will be negotiated, it does not have to be Turkey."

At the same time, he recalled that "Erdogan invites (Putin) to visit him in Turkey."
