Putin and Zelensky could meet soon

(Patria) - Russian President Vladimir Putin could soon meet with Volodymyr Zelensky, the Axios web portal announced, citing a source from the US administration, TASS reported.

"We are very close to a meeting between Putin and Zelensky," said a US official, quoted by the news portal. Additional trilateral negotiations should be organized before that, the source said.

"We think these meetings should take place before the meeting between the leaders. We don't think we are far from that. If we continue on the current path, we will get there," he emphasized.

Washington believes that the trilateral talks between representatives of Russia, the United States, and Ukraine in Abu Dhabi "went as well as we could have expected".

"We feel good about where we are now," another US official told Axios.

Trilateral consultations were held in Abu Dhabi on January 23 and 24.
