33-kilometer route: The final stage of the Peace March will go over Kameničko brdo

SREBRENICA, (Patria) - The final stage of the Peace March 2019 will go over Kameničko brdo regardless of the weather, said Munir Habibović, president of the Subcommittee for the Peace March, for the Patria News Agency.

"The conditions are catastrophic, but 90% of the participants have stated that they want to go over Kameničko brdo, and we have decided that the final stage will go that way. The Federal Administration of Civil Protection has helped us by reinforcing material and technical resources, and I hope everything will go as it should," said Habibović.

This is the section where the infamous "Bukva" took place in July 1995, where at least 1,000 Srebrenica residents were killed, and a large number were wounded while trying to reach the free territory.

The route to the Potočari Memorial Center is about 33 kilometers long. The arrival of around 6,000 participants is expected in the late evening hours.

The route of the Peace March passes through: Nezuk - Baljkovica - Parlog - Crni Vrh - Snagovo - Liplje - Jošanica - Donja Kamenica - Bakrači - Glodi - Udrč - Cerska - Kaldrmica - Đugum - Mravinjci - Burnice - Kameničko brdo - Ravni Buljim - Jaglići - Šušnjari - Budak - Potočari (Memorial Center). The walk takes three days, about 30 kilometers per day, over very demanding terrain.

On Thursday, July 11, 33 identified victims of the Srebrenica genocide will be buried in the Potočari cemetery.
