Puljić held Easter Mass: Man has lost himself in a distorted value system

Easter Mass at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Sarajevo today marked the biggest Catholic holiday Easter, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

A large number of believers came to the mass, led by the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Cardinal Vinko Puljić, who, in his address, reminded of the Resurrection Day of Jesus Christ by saying that all believers, upon remembrance of this day, recognize their identity through baptism.

- I send a joyful message: Happy Easter, so that we radiate the joy of Easter - Puljić said.

- The victory of Jesus over death has brought man a chance to rejoice. Why do we have so little joy? Man is horrified by the politics and ideologies that think man has the right to kill people. People who kill in the name of God. The latest events in Kenya are also an example. This is a distorted value system where man has lost himself. Man thinks he is the master of the world. Man has lost his relationship with God. How can man rejoice when he cuts the branch he is sitting on - Puljić emphasized.

He reminded believers that snow falls on Easter because people have the wrong relationship with nature.

- We have disturbed God's nature. Unfortunately, man has disturbed a lot of things, this divine law. Easter wants to return that inner light to man, so that he recognizes his dignity. We need to change our mentality. Not only in local but in world politics, to stop war. How can a dog be more valuable than a child going to school - Puljić said, calling for peace.
