Water pipe burst, road damaged, significant part of the city without water

(Patria) - In the Sarajevo settlement of Dolac Malta, due to a water pipe burst, a large amount of water spilled onto the road in the evening hours yesterday.

The road has been damaged, and the indentation that formed in the asphalt is filled with water, with parts of the road scattered across it.

The road is passable, but potentially dangerous due to possible further collapse.

KJKP Vodovod i kanalizacija (Sarajevo Water and Sewerage Utility) issued a statement about the incident, announcing that "due to a malfunction in Zmaja od Bosne street, there will be an interruption of water supply in the following streets: Zmaja od Bosne, Milana Preloga, Hrasnička, Džamijska, Porodice Ribar, Trg Heroja, Topal Osman Paše, Aleja Lipa, Envera Šehovića, Paromlinska, Alojza Benca, Srebrenička, Zenička, Bugojanska, Kolodvorska, Neretvanska, Sakiba Nišića, Marka Marulića, Safeta Udžvarlića, Igmanska, Džavida Haverića, Hamdije Čemerlića, Ložionička, Krupska, Put Života, Franje Račkog, Koste Hermana, Vilsonovo Šetalište, part of Azize Šaćirbegović, as well as in the settlements of Dolac Malta and Grbavica".

Normalization of water supply is expected to occur after the repair work on the malfunction is completed.
