Pudar after gold medal and new record: Hard work paid off

(Patria) - Bosnian swimmer Lana Pudar won a gold medal today in the final of the World Junior Championships in Israel, in the 200-meter butterfly discipline.

In her first reaction after the medal, she did not hide her happiness, and words failed her to describe how she felt.

"I am happy to have become world champion and to have set a new world championship record. Hard work paid off. This is a very important experience for me, ahead of the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris," Pudar said after the race.

She set a new world championship record by swimming the 200-meter distance in 2:07:20.

"Congratulations to Lana Pudar on winning gold and another historic success for our country. You are the pride of Bosnia and Herzegovina! Our support for you in achieving top results will not be lacking, because you are the best ambassador of our country in the world. Continue bravely to achieve success," they stated from the Canton of Sarajevo.

The Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Borjana Krišto, also congratulated Pudar.

"Sincere congratulations to the golden Lana Pudar who won first place in the 200m butterfly discipline in Israel at the World Junior Championships! Lana is a shining example to young athletes across BiH, whose success we all take pride in," Krišto stated.

Numerous congratulations were sent by politicians, athletes, and citizens of BiH.
