BiH PA: Commission for Preparation of Council of Ministers Unanimously Elected

13:12 The session of the House of Representatives of the PA of BiH ended with the implementation of all agenda items.

12:58 The new leadership of the House of Representatives of the PA of BiH took their seats and the session continued after a short break. Šemsudin Mehmedović (SDA) proposed that Asim Sarajlić be included in the Commission for the Preparation of the Council of Ministers. Željko Komšić, on behalf of the DF Club, proposed Damir Bećirović. Mirsad Đonlagić, on behalf of SBB, proposed Fehim Škaljić, while Borjana Krišto, on behalf of the parties gathered around HDZ BiH, nominated Vjekoslav Bevanda. Saša Magazinović, on behalf of SDP, proposed Mirsad Mešić. SNSD proposed Lazar Prodanović. Borislav Bojić, on behalf of SDS, nominated Aleksandra Pandurević, and Momčilo Novaković on behalf of PDP and NDP. In addition, Diana Zelenika (HDZ 1990), Zaim Backović (BPS), and Jasmin Emrić (A-SDA) were elected individually. These are also the elected members of the Commission for the Preparation of the Council of Ministers. 42 MPs voted for the proposed candidates, meaning the Commission was elected unanimously.

12:34 After a short discussion about who should be the first and who the second deputy, the vote followed. Electronic voting was not possible in the hall, so the MPs voted manually. First, the vote was held for Šefik Džaferović, the candidate for the Chairperson of the House of Representatives of the PA of BiH. 27 MPs voted for Džaferović, seven against, and eight abstained.

Some MPs requested a second round to determine the entity majority, but Nikola Špirić (SNSD) clarified that it was not necessary. Đonlagić explained that out of 27 votes, 20 were from FBiH and 7 from RS, and congratulated the Chairperson Džaferović.

Borjana Krišto, as the first deputy chairperson, received 35 votes in favor, none against, and seven abstentions.

Mladen Bosić became the second deputy with 27 votes in favor, seven against, and seven abstentions.

12:29 Borjana Krišto stated that on behalf of HDZ BiH and the parties gathered around this party, she wanted to say something about the first and second deputy chairpersons.

- In this mandate, attention should be paid to the rotations that are happening. It would be logical for the chairperson of the House of Representatives of the PA of BiH to be from the Croatian people, but since nothing will be obstructed and if SDA wants the position of chairperson, it is acceptable to us, because the rotation is happening - said Krišto.

12:24 A quorum for full decision-making exists, and the MPs are appointing the leadership, the chairperson, and the two deputy chairpersons of the House of Representatives of the PA of BiH.

- The decision is made by a majority of votes of those present. If no candidate receives a majority, the vote is repeated in its entirety - noted Đonlagić.

Asim Sarajlić, an MP from SDA, congratulated the MPs on taking their oaths on behalf of the SDA Club and, on behalf of this party, proposed Šefik Džaferović for the position of chairperson, stating that he believes Džaferović will perform this function honorably with God's help.

Vjekoslav Bevanda (HDZ BiH) nominated Borjana Krišto for the first deputy chairperson, while Aleksandra Pandurević (SDS) stated that she nominated Mladen Bosić for the second or first deputy chairperson.

12:16 42 elected MPs in the House of Representatives of the PA of BiH solemnly took their oaths after the chairperson presented the procedure. All in one voice, they swore to, among other things, "protect the interests of all peoples of BiH".

- By taking the solemn oath, we have met the conditions for performing our parliamentary duties - said Đonlagić.

12:00 The constitutive session of the House of Representatives of the PA of BiH began in Sarajevo, where future MPs of the state Parliament will take solemn oaths, and the election of the chairperson, the first and second deputy chairpersons of the House of Representatives of the PA of BiH, as well as the election of members of the Commission for the Preparation of the Election of the Council of Ministers of BiH, is expected, reports the reporter of the Patria News Agency.

Ministers from the previous convocation of the Council of Ministers of BiH, two members of the BiH Presidency Mladen Ivanić and Bakir Izetbegović, and numerous representatives of the international community are present at the session.

Mirsad Đonlagić, an MP from SBB, as the oldest MP, is chairing this session, and the constitutive session officially began with the playing of the anthem.
