First-instance verdict: Three men sentenced to a total of 38 years in prison for raping a girl in Sarajevo

(Patria) - The Cantonal Court in Sarajevo delivered a first-instance verdict and found Benjamin Aganović, Aladin Hajdarević, and Nermin Dizdarević guilty.

For the criminal offenses of violating the inviolability of home, unlawful deprivation of liberty, rape, and unauthorized optical recording, Aganović was sentenced to a unified prison term of 15 years, Hajdarević was sentenced to 13 years in prison for the criminal offenses of violating the inviolability of home, unlawful deprivation of liberty, and rape, while Dizdarević was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the criminal offense of rape.

After the verdict was pronounced, the detention of the accused was extended by nine months.

Benjamin Aganović is accused of demanding that the victim in this case, after a hearing in the Municipal Court in Sarajevo in a case where he was accused of drug trafficking, take responsibility upon herself, threatening her multiple times. After she refused, on January 25, 2025, in the afternoon, Aganović and Hajdarević broke into the apartment where she lived.

They beat her, pulled her hair, drugged her, and then raped her. The accused Aganović recorded everything with his mobile phone. During the night, the accused Nermin Dizdarević also came to the apartment and raped her. The day after, the victim managed to escape from the apartment, running towards the Pejton settlement, where an unknown passerby provided her with assistance.
