(Patria) - Paid assassin of the Škaljari, i.e. Zemun clan, Siniša Petrić, alias Zenica, is being released on parole today, Istraga.ba learns. The decision to release a man responsible for multiple murders was made by the new Minister of Justice of Republika Srpska, Goran Selak, reports Istraga.ba.
This was Selak's first decision after taking office as Minister of Justice in the new, unconstitutional Government of RS. Goran Selak assumed the position of Minister of Justice on September 9. The very next day, the Parole Board of the Ministry of Justice of Republika Srpska approved parole for the killer Siniša Petrić from serving his prison sentence in Foča. Minister Selak already sent a notification to the Foča Correctional Facility on September 11, stating that Petrić must be released on September 12.
Siniša Petrić, alias Zenica, was extradited from Spain last year, after Spanish authorities approved his request to serve part of his prison sentence in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Serving the sentence in BiH was previously approved for Petrić by the District Court in Banja Luka.
Petrić was arrested in 2012 in Valencia, and in 2014 he was sentenced in that country to 15 years in prison for organized crime and weapons possession. The Ministry of Justice of Spain requested the same year from the Ministry of Justice of BiH the recognition and enforcement of the sentence imposed on him. The District Court in Banja Luka made a decision in February 2020 to take over the enforcement of the sentence, thus enabling Petrić's transfer to serve his prison sentence in BiH. Petrić was arrested in 2012 together with Luka Bojović, at the time designated as the leader of the criminal group Zemun clan, which participated in the 2003 murder of Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Đinđić.
Petrić has also been convicted in courts in Niš and Subotica for causing injuries, robbery, and illegal possession and carrying of weapons. The District Court in Banja Luka took over in February 2023 the enforcement of sentences from Serbia as well, and imposed a 15-year prison sentence on Petrić. This included time served in prison in Serbia, from February 1994 to September 2007, when he escaped from the prison in Sremska Mitrovica.
According to the sentence taken over by the BiH judiciary from Spain, Petrić was supposed to be in prison until 2027. However, the authorities of Republika Srpska decided to release Petrić two years before the expiration of his prison sentence. According to information from Istraga, Petrić will live in the Trebinje area.
Media from Serbia reported that Petrić, even as a minor, was a member of the group of killers of Marinko Magda, which massacred 14 people in Vojvodina and Hungary. Petrić's team worked for Magda, so in January 1994, in just one night, in Subotica they killed Milan, Stana, and their son Dane Petrić, who was only 11 years old at the time, as well as Vera and Josip Agatić. For this crime, Petrić was sentenced to death. However, as he was a minor, the sentence was commuted to 15 years in prison. During 1999, due to "good behavior," he was released for a weekend from the prison in Sremska Mitrovica. Zenica used this release to escape. Thirteen years later, Petrić was arrested in Spain together with Luka Bojović. Three years ago, Bojović was transferred to Serbia and has been free ever since.
According to information from Istraga, it was Luka Bojović and his friend Ljuban Ećim (a fugitive war criminal living in Serbia) who insisted with the leaders of SNSD to appoint Goran Selak to the position of Minister of Justice of Republika Srpska. Earlier, we also published photographs showing Bojović and Ećim had direct contacts with the former Minister of Security of BiH, Nenad Nešić.
