First coronavirus victim in RS, sixth in BiH

BANJA LUKA, (Patria) - The first victim of the coronavirus in Republika Srpska, confirmed at a press conference by the Minister of Health and Social Protection of Republika Srpska, Alen Šeranić.

He said that an elderly woman died in Banja Luka today.

"We have the first victim of coronavirus in Republika Srpska. It is an elderly lady who was admitted to the Clinic for Infectious Diseases yesterday and who tested positive for coronavirus," he said.

She was admitted with a severe clinical picture and developed pneumonia. She suffered from a number of chronic diseases, Šeranić announced.

She had been in contact with a person positive for coronavirus.

Currently, at the clinic in Banja Luka, out of 28 patients, 25 have a moderate clinical picture, and three patients are on ventilators.
