First Transversal remains a priority

Canton Sarajevo Prime Minister Edin Forto, Minister of Transport Adnan Šteta, and Mayor of Centar Municipality Srđan Mandić visited the KS Planning Institute, where they held a meeting with director Hamdija Efendić, who informed them about the activities this institute has undertaken so far, related to the plans for the construction of the First Transversal.

Director Efendić presented the Amendments to the Regulatory Plan for the City Park "Betanija", as well as the Regulatory Plan "Sarajevo-gas – Bosnalijek".

He explained the purpose and use of these plans, and emphasized that nothing will be done without the consent of the KS Government.

It was further emphasized at this meeting that it is necessary to speed up the resolution of property-legal relations on the section of the First Transversal, for which the Centar Municipality and the KS Construction Institute are responsible.

In this regard, Mayor Mandić stated that the municipality will urgently resolve all matters within its jurisdiction.

The meeting participants agreed that the First Transversal was and remains a strategic project for the Canton. It is the most important road currently being built in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, alongside the highway. This is especially true considering that the road going through Vogošća is overloaded, and it is also the entrance to Sarajevo. The construction of this extremely significant road would resolve traffic jams, it was emphasized on this occasion.

Minister Šteta announced that the relevant ministry will do everything within its jurisdiction, and with the support of the Construction Institute and the Centar Municipality, will strive to accelerate all activities related to the execution of works on the First Transversal.

It was agreed at the meeting that joint efforts will be undertaken to carry out all necessary activities for the realization of this important project, and that other institutions will also be involved, in order to complete the construction of this crucial transport project in Canton Sarajevo as soon as possible.
