(Patria) - The first Bosnian and Herzegovinian royal grand opera "Tvrtko, King of Bosnia" by composer Ammar Jažić, accompanied by the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by maestro Josip Šego, directed by Dražen Siriščević, will be performed on the stage of the National Theatre Sarajevo on November 29 and December 1, starting at 7:30 PM.
The opera "Tvrtko, King of Bosnia" is based on the novel "Chronicle of King Tvrtko" by author Jasmin Imamović, with the libretto by Muamer Kodrić.
Soloists and the choir of the Opera of the National Theatre Sarajevo, the Ballet of the National Theatre Sarajevo, and the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra are participating in the performance.
The title role of Tvrtko will be performed by Ivan Šarić, soloist of the NPS Opera; Grubača, Tvrtko's common-law wife, will be played by Jana Cvetković/Adelisa Saračević; Katarina Kikić Marić will be heard as Princess Jelena, Tvrtko's mother; while Hana Salihović will embody Dorothea, the Queen of Bosnia. Amir Saračević plays the role of Vuk, Tvrtko's brother; while Ileš Bečei will portray Vuk Dabišić, a nobleman and conspirator against Tvrtko. Opera soloist Erol Ramadanović plays the role of Hotjan, Tvrtko's advisor. The Bosnian Did, head of the Bosnian Church, is Ivica Šarić; Vlatko Hranić, a Bosnian knight and nobleman, is Denis Isaković.
Jasmin Bašić will portray Hrabren, the attendant; Dajana Šegvić will play Elizabeth, the Queen of Hungary; and Josip Katavić will play the Venetian envoy. The Dalmatian envoy is Siniša Markanović; Nicolo, Ermin Ašćerić; Abdulaziz, Nedim Bašić. Edin Daši will play Lazar's messenger, Dejan Kajević will play the Hungarian messenger, and Haris Bidžan will play Vladislav Dabišić, Vuk Dabišić's brother.
The choreographer is Mojca Majcen, the set designer is Slaven Raos, and the costume designer is Mladen Radovniković. The lighting design is by Moamer Šaković, and the video design is by Dino Hujić. The head of the Opera choir is Danijel Žontar.
The patron of the first Bosnian and Herzegovinian royal grand opera "Tvrtko, King of Bosnia" is the Government of the Federation of BiH.
