Parents protest against child vaccination

The association Citizens' Initiative for Optional Vaccination organized a protest in Belgrade today due to the announced changes to the law and the introduction of mandatory vaccination, warning that vaccines can cause serious illnesses in children, such as autism, reports the news agency Patria.

Representative of that informal association, Dragana Baša, said at Nikola Pašić Square, where parents with children gathered, that they are not a lobby against vaccines, as they are called, but mostly parents whose children fell ill after receiving the vaccine.

-We are in favor of vaccination being voluntary – each according to their own will and choice. We demand that a new law be passed modeled after 18 EU countries, where vaccination is a matter of voluntariness, she told reporters.
