Protest before judicial institutions: BiH Prosecutor's Office hides the A list, defenders say 'this is a harem of injustice'

(Patria) - Before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ahead of the verdict in the case of Ibrahim Purić and others tried for war crimes, former fighters of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as citizens of Sarajevo, Zenica, and Vitez gathered, carrying banners with messages: "Dobrovoljačka is not on the A list of the Hague Prosecutor's Office!" "We want the truth," "Why is the BiH Prosecutor's Office hiding the A list, while reactivating Dobrovoljačka? We want the truth."

Elvir Imamović from Sarajevo participated in the defense of the capital city of Sarajevo from the first to the last day of the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"I came here to support our fighters, people who defended and paid a bloody price for this freedom that we all enjoy today. But unfortunately, we have a prosecutor's office that only prosecutes defenders, and tries to equate the aggressor with us who defended Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our military boot never stepped into Serbia or Croatia. We defended and died on our own hearths," he says.

According to him, the goal of the international community from the end of the war in 1995 until today has been to try to equate the aggressor and the victim.

"Just look at which indictments were raised in The Hague and transferred here to the Prosecutor's Office; they were set aside, only fighters of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina are being prosecuted, and the international community's goal is to equate us who defended ourselves with those who attacked us. That would be the same as if they now tried to equate Russia and Ukraine, and brought Vladimir Putin to their Prosecutor's Office in Ukraine to judge. Unfortunately, that is what we experienced," added Imamović.

He says he does not believe that justice resides in the building of the judicial institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"This is a harem of injustice. Here are people, unfortunately, 90 percent of whom participated on the other side, attacked this city and kept it under siege. Unfortunately, due to the wrong policy of our own people, whom I blame more than those behind me, we have come to the point where we are being prosecuted today, where our fighters and our generals are lying in prisons. 11,000 killed Sarajevans, 1,601 children. In this building behind us, not a single indictment has been raised. People still boast on RTRS about how they sniped the city, killed children while sledding, while eating slices, how they kept us hungry, thirsty, without water, without electricity. I was here for four years, I know what suffering is, what hell is. Sodom and Gomorrah. We all went through that here in Sarajevo.

We must unite, like in '92. If we do not all stand by each other, as we did in '92, there will be neither Bosnia nor us who defended it," added Imamović.
