SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Members of the Association “Steps of Peace” from Odžak started a march this morning from Hadžići to the Memorial Park on Brezovača to pay tribute to Smajo Soma, the oldest fighter of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Čedomir Domuz, a hero of Hadžići and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Čedomir Domuz is a Bosnian and Herzegovinian symbol of secularism and multi-ethnicity. Domuz loved Bosnia and Herzegovina, and this visit of ours, the idea to pay tribute to this hero by starting a commemorative march in his and Smajo Soma's memory, is a small part of the gratitude we have for these people. We sincerely hope that this march will become traditional starting next year,” said Nihad Alić, president of the Association “Steps of Peace” from Odžak.
The members of this Association were welcomed in Hadžići by Čedo Domuz's daughter, Sanja Sadiković, who expressed her gratitude to the guests because the members of “Steps of Peace” had paid tribute to Čedomir Domuz a month ago on their way to Potočari.
Today marks the 27th anniversary of Čedomir Domuz's death, and a commemorative program will be held at 10:30 AM in the Memorial Park on Brezovača near Hadžići.
