Prosinečki and the New Dragons: Kodro Secures Victory in Razgrad

The Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team played a friendly match in Razgrad. Coach Robert Prosinečki, unlike the matches against Mexico and the United States, had our best footballers at his disposal. After 90 minutes of play, our Dragons defeated Bulgaria 1-0, with the only goal scored by Kenan Kodro.

Although snow had been falling in Razgrad for days, the organizers made an effort and did an excellent job, so the pitch looked really good. Our new coach changed the system of play, so the Dragons played in a 4-3-3 formation for the first time. Sarajevo footballer Elvis Sarić found himself in the starting lineup, as did Ibrahim Šehić, Samir Memišević, Kenan Kodro and Haris Duljević.

In the first 15 minutes, the hosts had several chances, which came from mistakes by our back line, and then in the 20th minute our team took the lead.

Edin Džeko passed the ball to Haris Duljević. The Dynamo Dresden player passed it to Sead Kolašinac, and the left-back of our team assisted Kenan Kodro, who scored for 1-0. After that, our boys continued with attacks, and the goal was an additional wind in their sails, so by the 30th minute we missed two good chances through Pjanić and Džeko.

Kenan Kodro could have scored his second goal of the match in the 40th minute. Our striker freed himself well from his marker and found himself alone in front of the Bulgarian goalkeeper. He shot while falling, but the ball went wide of the goal. There were no major excitements until the end of the first half, so the Dragons went to the break with a minimal lead.

In the continuation, our footballers had the first attempt. Pjanić shot, but the ball went over the goal. Ten minutes later, Pjanić crossed after a set piece, and Ermin Bičakčić was late for his cross. In the 65th minute, Despodov tried to threaten our goal, but Šehić was secure.

Substitute Goran Zakarić in the 70th minute made a good run down the left side and crossed in front of the Bulgarian goal, but Edin Džeko was late for his cross. Smail Prevljak made his debut for the BiH national team, entering the field in the 76th minute instead of Edin Džeko, for whom this was the 90th match in the national jersey with 52 goals scored.

In the 83rd minute, Deni Milošević did not take advantage of a big mistake by the Bulgarian goalkeeper. Just two minutes later, the Bulgarians hit the post of Šehić's goal after a shot. Raynov shot, and the same player sent the rebound into our goal with his hand, so the referee from France quite justifiably showed him a second yellow card, i.e., a red card.

There were no major excitements until the end of the match, so the Dragons recorded their first victory under the leadership of Robert Prosinečki, who is obviously creating some new Dragons.
