TAMPERE, (Patria) - The official press conference of the "A" national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina ahead of tomorrow's match with Finland was held today at the Tampere stadium. The coach Robert Prosinečki and captain Edin Džeko addressed the media representatives. Prosinečki says that the team was not too bothered by missing one training session:
"The fact that we cancelled one training session doesn't change much. We managed to do what we planned. We knew after the match with Greece that we wouldn't be able to count on Pjanić against Finland, and we started thinking then about who could replace him. We prepared well. A difficult match awaits us, and it could be crucial in these qualifiers. That's why a victory would mean a lot to us. We expect a good game and hope for a positive result."
When asked by journalists to comment on the group, the coach replied:
"We all know well that this is a tough group with Italy, who missed the World Cup and is the favorite. Between Greece, Finland, and us, the race for the second spot at the Euro is on. In football, many things happen beyond expectations, so we'll see what happens. The most important thing for us is tomorrow's match, and the focus of our preparations is on it. I was very optimistic even before the qualifiers started because BiH has a good national team that can go to a major tournament. Now we'll see from which position."
Prosinečki said they are preparing to achieve the best possible result.
"We know that Finland is a good team. We know mostly everything about them. We watched their recent matches. They were excellent in the Nations League. They played a very good match against Italy. We know they are good, but we believe that we will be at our level tomorrow and achieve the desired result. Of course, it won't be easy. We don't underestimate Finland at all because they are an excellent team."
Edin Džeko believes that the BiH team has important matches ahead:
"This is not the best time to play because it's the end of the season. However, it's the same for us as it is for the opponent. We have prepared well because we have two very important matches ahead of us, especially tomorrow's. We know what a victory can bring us, and that's why we are not thinking about rest yet."
Džeko says that Finland is a country where hockey is more valued than football, but that has changed in the last few years.
"We followed Finland's matches in the Nations League. They are a tough team that doesn't concede many goals, and it won't be easy. It's important that we are compact and positioned well on the field. In football, a match can be decided by one chance. I hope the result will be in our favor tomorrow."
After the press conference, the official training session of the "A" national team of BiH was held.
The match Finland-Bosnia and Herzegovina is scheduled for tomorrow at 18:00 CET (19:00 local time) at the "Tampere" stadium in Tampere.
