Best alpinists in BiH announced

Sarajevo School of Alpinism announced the most successful alpinists in 2014 who conquered some of the most difficult ascents and mountain peaks in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

Aida Muminović from Bugojno is the first woman from our country to successfully climb the 600-meter high and extremely difficult Pallavicini route on Austria's highest peak, Grossglockner, which is 3,798 meters high, earning her the recognition of the best female alpinist in BiH last year. Aida is currently in the Alps, climbing frozen waterfalls.

Mahir Mešić from Jablanica and Admir Andelić Tomba from Živinice, as a pair, managed in one day, after six hours of climbing the 600-meter high northern face of Cetina on Prenj, to complete the first repetition of the extremely difficult Ramazanski deja-vu route and deservedly became the best alpinists of 2014.

The announcement of the most successful followed the completion of the winter alpinism course, with which the Sarajevo School of Alpinism marks 43 years of operation, during which it has trained over a thousand alpinists without a single accident. Participants of the Sarajevo School of Alpinism have climbed world peaks from Prenj to the Himalayas: Fikret Karačić and Dr. Naim Logić reached the highest peak in the world – Mount Everest, while Dr. Rubina Smajić last year managed to reach the highest peak in Europe, Mont Blanc, for which Prof. Dr. Samir Delibegović from Tuzla is also preparing.
