Prof. Dr. Zlatan Begić: US Embassy is working on revising Dayton based on Greater-Serbian policies of Belgrade and Zagreb

(Patria) - Instead of seeking the implementation of Dayton through the enforcement of the European Convention and the rulings of the European Court - which is a legal obligation under Dayton itself, the US Embassy has been working on a quiet evolutionary revision of it for decades - based on the Greater-Serbian policies of Belgrade and Zagreb, stated Prof. Dr. Zlatan Begić, also a Member of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly.

"From the implementation of the SAME rulings of the Constitutional Court in DIFFERENT ways in the two entities - which is why we have the known disproportionality in the organization of power in the entities, through the Law on Residence, all the way to electoral law, undermining procedures before the European Court initiated by discriminated BiH citizens, and now to the state Constitutional Court.

Until now, they have always had - mostly the same lackeys for such anti-state actions (whether it was the SDP, currently the OHR, etc.), but now in the House of Peoples, they are short of lackeys to dismantle the Constitutional Court and strengthen Greater-Serbian policies in BiH - all in accordance with "procedures", so that our "friends" or the OHR do not have to dirty their own hands further with this unpleasant task.

It is well known that once a law is passed at the state level - it is simply impossible to change it, thanks to undemocratic decision-making procedures, just as it is impossible under the current circumstances to implement any decision of the Constitutional Court through parliamentary procedure - if it is unconstitutional.

This straitjacket has also been imposed on the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina by Dayton. Setting aside the fact that through the 'Trojka' coalition, they appointed HDZ's Vukoja to the Constitutional Court - also in an unconstitutional manner (which can have a decisive impact on any decision given the structure of the Constitutional Court), and now they are directing us to appeal to such a Constitutional Court.

Simply put, they want us to collectively hang ourselves with our own rope and our own hands in the middle of parliament. From their perspective, the problem are those who refuse to commit suicide (figuratively speaking), after the murder of the rule of law, democracy, state institutions, and the BiH state itself. The sacred cow of the American administration's friendship has already swallowed many democratic values in BiH, weakened institutions, dismantled a free civil society and media, etc. Democracy, the rule of law, and democratic principles - as they are in the USA - YES, humiliating USA apartheid policy in BiH - NO!

You have discriminated against everyone and threatened everyone who opposes the wave of Greater-Serbian policies and further discrimination, you are severely violating Dayton, which you invoke. From a position of brute force, you openly threaten and restrict freedom of speech and thought, and specifically to those who are already severely discriminated against, you meddle in Strasbourg, you conspire against honest people, intellectuals, and citizens of this country who fight for democracy and the rule of law and against apartheid (everything is known!), you have brought people to power who are directly connected to drug cartels, etc.

The masks have fallen, thank you - to no one! The proponents of Greater-Serbian policies in Belgrade and Zagreb, Dodik and Čović, are rejoicing at your actions - ultimately, through the 'Trojka' coalition, you left them in power, even though power could have been formed after the 2022 elections without them - couldn't it? The free people of this country will continue to fight for all those democratic values on which the great American nation itself is founded, and which you have brutally trampled in our homeland!", is the opinion of Prof. Dr. Zlatan Begić
