Prof. Dr. Mirza Bišćević: I disassociate myself from fake advertisements using my name and photos

(Patria) - After advertisements for preparations for "treatment of joint pain" appeared on the internet, using the name and image of the prominent orthopedist Prof. Dr. Mirza Bišćević, this doctor publicly addressed the public to warn patients about abuse and misinformation.

„I disassociate myself from all web advertisements that abuse my name and photos. These are montages using my previously available images, without any approval,“ emphasized Prof. Dr. Bišćević.

He added that these ads promote products – gels, vitamins, and supplements – that have no proven medical effect in treating painful joint conditions.

Prof. Dr. Bišćević reminds that the most important factors in treating and preventing joint problems are maintaining normal body weight and regular physical activity, along with mandatory consultations with specialist doctors.

„I tell patients not to rely on advertisements, but to seek information exclusively from their orthopedists or other healthcare professionals. Internet ads are not a substitute for medical advice.“

At the end of his statement, the professor thanked everyone who reported suspicious ads and appealed to the media to inform the public in order to prevent further deception of citizens.
