(Patria) - Officers of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs, in a joint operation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton and the Construction Inspection of the Ilidža municipality, conducted an inspection control in the area of Stup, Ilidža municipality, at the location where free meals are provided to migrants.
"During the inspection, it was determined that the responsible person of the organization providing free meals to migrants does not have the appropriate permits for carrying out these activities, and that seven foreign nationals from the European Union, who presented themselves as volunteers, do not have a regulated residence status in BiH. In accordance with the Law on Foreigners, the Service processed the foreign nationals for non-compliance with the regulations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton and the Construction Inspection of the Ilidža municipality took measures and actions within their jurisdiction. As part of this operation, coordination activities were carried out related to the involvement of other inspections in accordance with the law," the Service for Foreigners' Affairs announced.
The Service for Foreigners' Affairs calls on citizens and non-governmental organizations not to engage in any organized activities related to the transport, accommodation, and especially the feeding of migrants, because by preparing meals by unauthorized persons, volunteers, and in inadequate premises and conditions, they endanger themselves and the migrants due to the possibility of mass food poisoning and the spread of infectious diseases.
