Members of the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces of BiH on a pilgrimage to Lourdes

(Patria) - A delegation of the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces of BiH, led by the Minister of Defence of BiH Marina Pendeš and Deputy Chief of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces of BiH Major General Ivica Jerkić, attended the opening ceremony of the 61st International Military and Police Pilgrimage in Lourdes, along with the ministers of Croatia, Italy, and Hungary.

The opening ceremony was held in the Basilica of St. Pius X in Lourdes, and it was attended by about forty countries from Europe and the world, including members of the Armed Forces of BiH and officials of the Ministry of Defence of BiH, led by Military Bishop Mons. Tomo Vukšić, who have been making a pilgrimage for the twentieth time.

As part of the military pilgrimage, the Minister of Defence of BiH Marina Pendeš and Major General Ivica Jerkić participated with official delegations in paying tribute to all fallen soldiers in all wars – at Peyramale Square in Lourdes.
This year's 61st International Military Pilgrimage is taking place under the motto "Seek peace and pursue it", and it concludes today, May 19, 2019, with an International Holy Mass, also in the Basilica of St. Pius X, where the closing ceremony will also be held.
