Rifle with silencer and ammunition found during car inspection without documentation

Officers of the Brod Border Police Unit discovered a 5.56 caliber rifle with an optical sight and silencer, along with 21 rounds of ammunition, in the trunk of a passenger vehicle with Croatian license plates during a border check on April 7, 2015. The rifle and ammunition were found without the necessary documentation and permits for possession and carrying of weapons, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

The vehicle was inspected on the Derventa – Srbac road and contained citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina J.R. (born 1978), DŽ.J. (born 1976), and A.I. (born 1979). A.I. stated that the found weapon was his property.

The prosecutor of the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Doboj was informed of the incident. Following the prosecutor's orders, the rifle and ammunition were confiscated. A report on the criminal offense of "manufacturing and acquiring weapons and means intended for committing criminal offenses" from the Criminal Code of Republika Srpska will be submitted to the aforementioned prosecutor's office against A.I.
