Collected larger quantities of old construction material, will use it to build a student pavilion

In just two weeks, Sarajevo residents donated a large number of old windows, doors, bricks, wooden structures…, from which construction of a student pavilion will begin in October this year.
This will be the first facility in Bosnia and Herzegovina built from recycled material, reports the news agency Patria.

The interesting project was launched by the International BURCH University from Sarajevo in cooperation with the French Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Faculty of Forestry and the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Sarajevo, the Cultural Heritage without Borders (CHwB) Foundation, and the Association "Council for Green Building".

The space will be used for organizing exhibitions and presentations, as well as a gathering place for students.

From mid-August until the end of the month, citizens donated a large amount of construction material for this project. The majority of the donated material is fully usable, while part of it will require thorough reconstruction.

From the CHwB Foundation, they explain that the windows, doors, and other old material donated by citizens for this pavilion will be repaired, given a new coat of paint, and as such will be installed in the pavilion, reports NAP.
