Early elections for the mayor of Vareš to be held on February 15 next year

(Patria) - The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina today at its 77th session adopted a Decision on calling and holding early elections for the mayor of the Municipality of Vareš. The elections will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

The Central Election Commission of BiH also adopted Instructions on the deadlines for election activities for holding early elections for the mayor of the Municipality of Vareš, which will be available to the public on the website of the Central Election Commission of BiH, www.izbori.ba .

Applications for certification of political parties and independent candidates to participate in the early elections are submitted to the Central Election Commission of BiH by December 23, 2025, until 4:00 PM.

The final deadline for registration of new voters voting outside Bosnia and Herzegovina is January 7, 2026, at 12:00 AM.

The election campaign begins on January 31, 2026. Regarding the held early elections for the President of Republika Srpska, the Central Election Commission of BiH at today's session adopted an Order instructing the Main Counting Center to open verification bag 002M#K600 and prepare a specification of invalid ballots without security elements by mobile teams, according to all security elements - stamp, watermark, paper, and signature.

The public will be informed about the start time of opening the verification bag via a statement from the Central Election Commission of BiH.
