20 years ago, BiH national football team played its first official match

The Bosnian-Herzegovinian national football team played its first official match in 1995 against Albania on foreign soil, where it was defeated 2-0, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

A year later, the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina was admitted to the world football federation FIFA, which enabled the first participation in the qualifiers for the World Cup in France in 1998. BiH had to play its first "home" matches in Bologna, on a neutral ground. The first qualifying match was played away against Greece, in Kalamata. In 1998, the FA of BiH was also admitted to the European football federation UEFA as a full member.

The match in Albania was played in front of 10,000 spectators at the Qemal Stafa stadium in Tirana, and the goals for Albania were scored by
Qendro and Dobi.

For Bosnia and Herzegovina, the players were: Ismir PINTOL, Vedin MUSIĆ, Ibrahim DURO, Muhamed KONJIĆ, Senad BEGIĆ, Nedžad FAZLAGIĆ (80' Said FAZLAGIĆ), Esmir DŽAFIĆ, Enes DEMIROVIĆ, Husref MUSEMIĆ (Amir OSMANOVIĆ), Asim HRNJIĆ, Almir TURKOVIĆ.
The coach was Fuad MUZUROVIĆ.
