13 years ago, the Dutch government fell due to Srebrenica

The Dutch government resigned on April 16, 2002, after official reports held Dutch soldiers responsible for failing to prevent the genocide in Srebrenica in July 1995, the largest genocide in Europe after World War II, writes the Patria News Agency.

Popular Prime Minister Wim Kok went to Queen Beatrix and submitted the resignations of all ministers and deputy ministers. This cast a shadow on the career of Prime Minister Kok, who had reduced unemployment and stimulated economic growth in the country, making him popular among citizens.

The president of the association "Mothers of the Srebrenica and Žepa Enclaves" told the Patria agency that she was in The Hague on the day the Dutch government fell, and that the situation was very tense.

- I remember that Hasan Nuhanović and I left the hall where that report was being read, because we were not satisfied with some details from the report. Later, the news of the dissolution of the Dutch Government reached us. I was glad about that - says Subašić, adding that it was a logical sequence of events after everything that happened in Srebrenica in 1995.

- It was probably human for Dutch politicians to admit that what they did in Srebrenica was not right. Their resignation was another confirmation that genocide occurred in Srebrenica, which the world should have prevented - believes Subašić.

During the genocide in Srebrenica, Serbian forces killed about 10,000 Bosniaks, including a large number of children, women, and the elderly... The Dutch battalion, which was supposed to prevent the genocide, did not do so. On the contrary, according to my reports, Dutch soldiers are direct accomplices in the genocide. This is confirmed by footage showing Dutch soldiers celebrating after the genocide, and their commander Thom Karremans congratulating Serbian Army General Ratko Mladić on what he called a "job well done", writes NAP.
