(Patria) - Indirect tax revenues in the first five months of 2024 amounted to 4 billion and 497 million KM, an increase of 407 million KM or 9.95% compared to the same period in 2023 when they amounted to 4 billion and 90 million KM.
In the first five months of 2024, the Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina (UIO) returned 869 million KM to the economy.
Net collected revenues distributed to beneficiaries in the first five months of 2024, which include the state, entities, and Brčko District, amounted to 3 billion and 627 million KM, an increase of 467 million KM compared to the revenues received by beneficiaries from the Single Account for the same period in 2023.
In May 2024, 894 million KM of indirect taxes were collected, which is 9 million KM more than in May 2023.
For financing state institutions in the first five months of 2024, an amount of 420.9 million KM was allocated. The largest portion of indirect tax revenues, as well as all surplus revenues collected, went to the entities and Brčko District. Thus, in the first five months of 2024, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina received 1 billion and 960 million KM, Republika Srpska received 1 billion and 97 million KM, and Brčko District received 109 million KM.
The table below shows the total funds allocated to entities and Brčko District BiH, including the corresponding external debt, for the first five months of 2024 compared to the same period last year. Amounts for external debt repayment are deducted before revenue distribution to beneficiaries. All amounts are expressed in millions of KM.
In addition to the allocated revenues in the table above, based on special road tolls for highway construction and the construction and reconstruction of other roads (0.25 KM), the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina received an additional 92.2 million KM, Republika Srpska received 60.9 million KM, and Brčko District received 3.1 million KM.
The difference represents a reserve in a special road toll account amounting to 0.25 KM.
