(Patria) - Professor Emeritus Esad Zgodić passed away at the age of 74 in Sarajevo.
He was a professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Sarajevo. At the Faculty of Political Sciences, he established the teaching discipline "History of Social and Political Thought of Bosnia and Herzegovina".
He is the author of a large number of scientific works, and also wrote for magazines, such as those of the "Preporod" society, "Sveske" and "Značenja".
For a long time, he was also politically active. During the 1980s, he worked in the Central Committee of the League of Communists of Bosnia and Herzegovina and is considered one of the founders of the SDP. Together with Nijaz Duraković, he was the author of the provisional and permanent program of the SDP.
He was born in Goražde on November 24, 1950.
A commemoration for Prof. Dr. Esad Zgodić will be held at the Faculty of Political Sciences on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, starting at 12:00 PM.
