Journalist Mustafa Borović passed away

(Patria) - Long-time journalist, publicist, and editor at the Federal News Agency (FENA), Mustafa Borović, suddenly passed away in Sarajevo at the age of 67.

Borović was born in 1957 in Paunci near Foča. He finished elementary school and high school in Foča, and the Faculty of Political Sciences – Journalism major in Sarajevo. He has been professionally engaged in journalism since April 1981, working for the newspaper Fočanske novine and Radio Foča, and then he was a journalist, editor-in-chief, and director of the regional newspaper Drinske novosti in Goražde. For ten years, he was a correspondent for the Sarajevo newspaper Večernje novine from southeastern Bosnia.

During the aggression against BiH, he was a member of the Armed Forces of BiH and held command positions in the 182nd Vitez Brigade and the War Presidency of the Foča municipality, without forgetting his profession. He regularly recorded and published touching stories about fighters and their fates, the defense against aggression, and the suffering of the Bosniak people, especially eastern Bosnia, in Večernje novine, Drina, and Ljiljan.

As a war reporter, he visited most of the battlefields in the zone of responsibility of the Army of BiH. Some of these war records are contained in several authorial and biographical books.

He was employed at the Federal News Agency from 2007 as the deputy editor-in-chief and DESK editor, and he retired two years ago.

The place and time of the funeral prayer and burial will be announced later.
