PM of Canton Sarajevo and Ambassador Reilly: Strengthening the Private Sector and Trade Ties

(Patria) - Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Nihad Uk hosted the British Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Julian Reilly.

Discussions were held on the development of Sarajevo Canton, its economic strengthening, infrastructure projects, especially in the area of improved public transport, and cultural development, mentioning the construction projects of the Ars Aevi Museum and the University Library.

The importance of strengthening the private sector was particularly emphasized, and in this regard, it was concluded that maximum efforts would be invested in improving trade ties between the United Kingdom and BiH.

Ambassador Reilly emphasized the need to work more on establishing more effective inter-cantonal cooperation, where the federal level would have a coordinating role.

Ambassador Reilly and Prime Minister Uk also spoke about legislative changes in the field of education in Sarajevo Canton, and investing continuous efforts in the fight against corruption. As stated, this is important not only for Sarajevo Canton but also serves as an example of transparent action for all other cantons.

Discussions were also held on amendments to the Election Law of BiH and possible implications for the political situation in BiH.
