Premier Pivić: We welcome the court decision rejecting the measure on the rector's status, a way to pay salaries has been found

(Patria) - The Municipal Court in Zenica adopted an interim measure ordering the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton and the Ministry of Finance to pay salaries to employees of the University of Zenica, as well as due obligations to suppliers and third parties, but at the same time rejected the proposal for an interim measure regarding Rector Jusuf Duraković.

"We welcome the court decision that is acceptable to the Government, because we do not want University of Zenica employees to suffer due to the interests of individuals, but to receive their earned salaries as soon as possible. The court decision enabled us to get out of this situation. The court rejected the proposal for an interim measure regarding the position of the rector, which proved that the rector is unjustifiably usurping the position," said Prime Minister Nezir Pivić.

He emphasized that the Government's position from the beginning was clear, namely that salaries would be paid as soon as legal conditions were met.

"With this court decision, that has been done, but it has also been confirmed that the court did not accept the interim measure regarding the rector's status. We expect the Senate to finally do its part and appoint an acting rector," said Prime Minister Pivić.

Today, he informed the President of the UNZE Union, Mirnes Duraković, and the President of the Union of Secondary and Higher Education of Zenica-Doboj Canton, Đevad Hadžić, about the court decision.

"The Union has been of the position from the very beginning that salaries must be paid to workers and that the blockade of work carried out by the Senate must not affect the workers. We expect the UNZE Senate to act in accordance with the law in force in the canton and to respect the decisions of the Management Board. The Union absolutely supports all court decisions," said Hadžić.
