Kosovo Prime Minister arrives in Sarajevo tonight

(Patria) - Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti will arrive in Sarajevo tonight, confirmed to Radio Free Europe (RSE) by the president of Circle 99 Adil Kulenović.

Kulenović said Kurti is coming to participate in a session that this organization is organizing a day later in Sarajevo's City Hall, where he will deliver an introductory speech.

- The session will discuss relations in the region - Kulenović told RSE.

Kurti stated back in mid-October at the Berlin Process summit that Kosovo will allow citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to enter with an ID card starting January 1, 2025.

The agreement that would abolish the visa regime between Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and allow citizens of these two countries to travel without visas, has not yet been ratified in the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It is being blocked by representatives of the authorities from the RS, led by the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) of Milorad Dodik.

For travel of Kosovo citizens to Bosnia and Herzegovina, a visa is required, which is "issued only in exceptional cases," with the signature of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Applications for Bosnian visas can be submitted in Skopje, Podgorica, and Belgrade. The visa issuance fee is 31 euros.

For citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to travel to Kosovo, they need, among other things, a guarantee letter or hotel reservation, an employment contract/employment certificate, and a certificate of no criminal record. The visa costs 40 euros and is submitted at the Embassy of Kosovo in Zagreb.

Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo have not mutually recognized each other, due to opposition from the Bosnian entity RS, headed by pro-Russian President Milorad Dodik, who is under US sanctions for undermining the Dayton Agreement.
