Prime Minister invited him to stay in Tuzla, but Nedžad will still take his final exam elsewhere

On his own behalf, as a former student, but also as Prime Minister of Tuzla Canton, Bego Gutić at today's meeting invited Nedžad Ribić to abandon his intention to withdraw from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Tuzla, reports the Patria news agency.

-I am aware of the problems at the University that must be systematically addressed, and the Government of Tuzla Canton will have to get involved in this in the coming period, without wishing to interfere in the academic autonomy of the University – said Prime Minister Gutić and announced that a new Law on Higher Education of Tuzla Canton will be drafted by the next academic year.

-Our goal is not to undermine the faculty, but things must finally start being resolved” – said Nedžad Ribić, a student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Tuzla, who, after passing 54 exams, just one exam before his final thesis, disappointed with the situation at the Faculty, submitted a request to withdraw from this higher education institution.

-I am not the only such case. Perhaps I am the only one who „snapped” one exam before the end, but similar cases have occurred before and there are some currently, they just weren't talked about – added Ribić and announced that he will complete his studies at another university in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

-I will pass the difference in subjects and graduate elsewhere sooner than I would finish one exam here, which, indicatively, is one of the last exams taken by most students of this faculty, said Ribić.

The Prime Minister repeatedly emphasized that he is aware of the situation and the state in which Ribić found himself.

-Given the student's previous success and achieved results, I cannot say that it is the student's fault – said Prime Minister Gutić and once again invited Ribić to reconsider returning to „our mechanical engineering”, it was announced from the Government of TK.
