Preliminary Autopsy Results: Elderly Woman Jela Pejić Was Not Killed

(Patria) - The death of elderly woman Jela Pejić (1949), whose body was found in the family home on Ozren, did not occur as a result of the use of force by another person and is not a homicide.

This was shown by the preliminary autopsy results, which the forensic medicine expert verbally communicated to the duty prosecutor.

The autopsy report and opinion state that the elderly woman, who was a severe cardiac patient, fell ill, causing her to fall, and death occurred as a result of an injury sustained in the neck area during the fall.

Furthermore, all evidence obtained so far during the investigation does not indicate that this was a violent death or the act of another person.

Investigative authorities continue to conduct a detailed investigation, and all relevant information will be published during the following day, the Tuzla Canton Prosecutor's Office announced.
